Singapore is set to unveil an exciting new attraction that blends nature, technology and immersive art experiences. A new teamLab museum will be built within an expanded ecological landscape called Wetlands by the Bay at Gardens by the Bay, one of Singapore’s most iconic tourist destinations.
Scheduled to open in stages from late 2028, Wetlands by the Bay will cover approximately five hectares, roughly the size of seven football fields. The development will significantly expand the existing Kingfisher Wetlands and introduce new attractions designed to enhance Singapore’s reputation as one of Asia’s most innovative travel destinations.
The project will combine lush natural habitats with cutting-edge digital art installations, creating a unique experience where visitors can explore nature while interacting with immersive artistic displays created by the world-renowned international art collective teamLab.

Visitors will be able to explore interactive artworks surrounded by natural wetlands and garden landscapes. One of the most unique features of the museum will be a pedal kayak experience that allows guests to navigate water environments while engaging with digital art installations.
This will be the first time teamLab has introduced such an activity within its museums, offering a completely new way for visitors to interact with both art and nature.
Founded in 2001, teamLab has become globally famous for immersive exhibitions that blend projection technology, light, sound and movement. The collective’s installations have appeared in cities such as New York, Hamburg and Jeddah, while its two museums in Tokyo attracted more than 4.2 million visitors in 2025 alone.
Singapore has previously hosted several successful teamLab exhibitions, including Story of the Forest at the National Museum of Singapore and teamLab Future World at the ArtScience Museum.

Among these will be around 600 mangrove and coastal plant species originating from regions such as Ecuador, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka and Timor-Leste. Interestingly, studies have shown that these mangrove species can thrive even in freshwater environments and play an important role in capturing carbon from the atmosphere.
The wetland development will create an important ecological habitat while also providing educational opportunities for visitors interested in environmental conservation and biodiversity.
New Dining Spaces and Event Areas
The development will also introduce a range of new visitor facilities designed to enhance the experience at Gardens by the Bay.The popular open-air foodcourt Satay by the Bay will be replaced by a modern two-storey waterfront dining block. The new complex will continue offering accessible food options on the ground level while introducing casual restaurants and eateries on the upper level.
Visitors will also enjoy spectacular views overlooking the Marina Reservoir and the future Founders’ Memorial from a dedicated viewing gallery within the dining complex.
Another major addition will be Glade Lawn, a 3,500 square metre event space capable of hosting gatherings of up to 1,000 people. This open-air venue will provide a scenic location for concerts, festivals and special events surrounded by lush wetlands.
A new boardwalk will also be constructed to connect Gardens by the Bay MRT station directly to the Gardens’ main entrance, making it even easier for visitors to explore the area.

Costing approximately $75.7 million, the bridge will provide one of Singapore’s most memorable visitor experiences. A 175-metre section of the bridge will sit just above the surface of the Marina Reservoir, creating the sensation of walking on water.
The bridge will be accessible to pedestrians, cyclists and mobility aids such as wheelchairs. At its widest point the structure will reach 5.8 metres across, allowing plenty of space for visitors to stop and admire the sweeping views of Marina Bay.
Strengthening Singapore’s Global Tourism Appeal
Gardens by the Bay continues to evolve as one of Singapore’s most popular attractions. In 2025 alone, the gardens welcomed an impressive 16 million visitors, marking the highest annual attendance since the attraction first opened in 2012.The addition of Wetlands by the Bay and the teamLab museum is expected to further enhance the destination’s global appeal by combining art, sustainability, technology and nature in one innovative space.
Construction of the Wetlands by the Bay project is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with the first facilities expected to open in 2028. Once complete, the development will create a new landmark experience for both local residents and international travellers visiting Singapore.
As Gardens by the Bay continues to expand, this next chapter promises to deliver an extraordinary destination where art, ecology and architecture come together in a truly immersive environment.
