This Saturday, 21 March 2026, the Wimmera Arts and Minerals Association (WAMA) will open its highly anticipated exhibition Entanglements with Fungi: Life, Death and Renewal at the National Centre for Environmental Art, nestled in the scenic foothills of the Grampians. On the same day, WAMA will host a Mushroom Masterclass from 10am to 12.30pm, led by renowned mycologist and environmental educator Alison Pouliot. This hands-on workshop will teach participants how to identify mushrooms in the wild, distinguish edible species from toxic look-alikes, and discover fungi in their natural habitats.

Ideal for amateur naturalists, photographers, and anyone with a curiosity for the forest floor, the masterclass complements the exhibition by providing practical, real-world insights into fungal ecology.
