Formula 1® Exhibition Makes Asia-Pacific Debut in Melbourne: An Immersive Motorsport Experience

Formula 1® Exhibition
Step Into 75 Years of Formula 1® History

Motorsport fans and travellers alike have a reason to rev their engines this summer as the award-winning Formula 1® Exhibition makes its Asia-Pacific debut at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC). Opened on Saturday, 29 November, the exhibition offers a thrilling journey through 75 years of Formula 1® innovation, emotion, and speed, making it a must-visit destination for international and local visitors exploring Melbourne.

A Global Sensation Arrives in Australia

After record-breaking runs across Europe and the Americas, the internationally acclaimed exhibition transforms MCEC into a 22,000-square-foot immersive playground spanning seven purpose-built rooms. Visitors will encounter five iconic F1 cars, including championship-winning machines driven by legends like Alan Jones, Sebastian Vettel, and Kimi Räikkönen, along with over 60 helmets, 25 race suits, 100 exclusive interviews, and 10 interactive racing simulators.

Exclusive to Melbourne, Aussie Drive celebrates Australia’s remarkable legacy in Formula 1, highlighting local champions from Jack Brabham’s pioneering victories to Oscar Piastri’s rise as a modern contender. With 38 Australian Grand Prix races across two circuits, the nation’s motorsport heritage remains a central pillar of the exhibition.

Immersive Experiences for Every F1 Fan

The exhibition is divided into seven captivating zones, each designed to transport visitors into the heart of Formula 1. In Once Upon a Time in Formula 1, guests experience the sport’s defining moments through rare photography and personal stories. Design Lab offers behind-the-scenes insight into the engineering and precision involved in crafting race cars.

Drivers and Duels brings legendary rivalries to life with a Hall of Fame showcasing iconic helmets and race suits, while Revolution by Design explores the sport’s technological innovations and future developments, featuring contributions from McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes AMG Petronas, Honda, Classic Team Lotus, and F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff.

Visitors will also encounter Survival, an evocative display including Romain Grosjean’s burnt HAAS race car remnants from his dramatic 2020 Bahrain crash, along with his gloves and boots. The journey concludes with The Pit Wall, a cinematic experience reliving the most emotional moments in Formula 1 history.

Supporting Race Against Dementia

The exhibition proudly partners with Race Against Dementia, founded by three-time World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart. The charity uses Formula 1-inspired teamwork and innovation to accelerate research into dementia. Donations during the exhibition support scientists and researchers worldwide in their mission to find preventions and cures for this devastating condition.
