Turismo Lanzarote has launched Lanzarote inArt

Turismo Lanzarote
Turismo Lanzarote has launched Lanzarote inArt, a tourism strategy that will see the destination target premium leisure travellers interested in discovering an environmentally conscious destination, beyond its beaches.

Lanzarote is the easternmost island of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, located some 125 kilometers off the north coast of Africa.

Of volcanic origin, the greatest recorded eruptions occurred between 1730 and 1736 in the area now the Timanfaya National Park.

The island was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1993, and it is known for its unique volcanic landscapes, including Timanfaya, Cueva de los Verdes, and Playa de Papagayo.

The island's attractions include its volcanic landscapes, palm tree-fringed beaches, and the production of wines. Lanzarote is also known for d the work of the artist-architect César Manrique, whose motto was Art into nature, nature into art’.

Manrique promoted a model of intervention based on the fundamentals of sustainability that sought to safeguard the island’s natural heritage and culture.

This model proved to be determining factor in the declaration of Lanzarote as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

Lanzarote inArt

Using the artist as its inspiration the Lanzarote inArt project will embrace :

  • Shores inArt.

A live musical piece linked to Lanzarote’s intangible heritage will serve as a backdrop to the sea from a different perspective.

  • Sports inArt

An experience to appreciate the complexity and variety of Lanzarote’s peculiar nature and agricultural crops while engaging in an active pursuit.

  • Conciousness inArt.

An experience around the salt, an ingredient which has been an essential element in the history of Lanzarote. Meditation, spas and salt pans come together to offer an experience by the sea.

The island offers a range of luxurious accommodations, including boutique hotels, high-end resorts, and private villas. The other Canary Islands are Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa.
