10 nights of FREE entertainment at the nation’s largest live music event in 2024!

Country music fans will have the opportunity to experience 10-days of FREE entertainment at the 2024 Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth, with some of the nation’s top country stars and emerging talent taking to the stage across multiple venues at the 52nd event.

The 2024 festival will officially kick off on Friday, 19 January with the Opening Concert in Toyota Park - the festival’s largest and loudest venue. Artists taking to the stage for the Opening Concert include 2023 Toyota Golden Guitar Female Artist of the Year Amber Lawrence, 2023 Toyota Golden Guitar Male Artist of the Year Andrew Swift, 2023 Toyota Golden Guitar winners Lyn Bowtell and Luke O’Shea, 2023 Toyota Star Maker Loren Ryan, 2023 Golden Gig, Sponsored by Maccas winner Caitlyn Jamieson and 2023 Toyota Busking Champion Lane Pittman, who competed on The Voice 2022, and who toured with Luke Combs earlier this year. The night will also be compered by Sam McClymont, concluding with a fireworks display at 9.30pm.

 

Toyota Country Music Festival Manager, Barry Harley says the 52nd festival will be a truly unique live music experience for all those who attend.

 

“The Toyota Country Music Festival is one of the only events in Australia that provides top-level live music for FREE for everyone to enjoy in addition to our many ticketed shows,” he said.

 

“In 2024, the nation’s top country artists, as well as the best in emerging talent will feature in full line-ups across Toyota Park and Toyota FanZone, with multiple venues across the region also offering the best in live entertainment.”

More than 100 artists will take to the stage in Toyota Park across the 10-day festival including, one of the top Golden Guitar nominees for 2024 Travis Collins, two-time Golden Guitar winner Aleyce Simmonds, world-renowned rock legend Andrew Farriss, five-time Golden Guitar nominee Jayne Denham, multi-Golden Guitar winner Kristy Cox, three-piece sibling band The Buckleys2022 New Talent of the Year winners Darlinghurst, four-time Golden Guitar nominee Allison Forbes, the recently formed duo of Catherine Britt and Lachlan Bryan - The Pleasures, Western Australia’s Indigenous group Kimberley Gold,  the 2024 Toyota Star Maker Top 10, plus many, many more.

 

Several artists performing in Toyota Park will also feature on the Toyota FanZone stage giving festivalgoers a unique opportunity to see their favourite artists up close.

 

“Some of the best performances of the festival take place on the FanZone stage and I am excited to say that in 2024 we have another fantastic line-up of artists ready to perform every day of the event,” said Mr Harley.

Friday, 19 January - Opening Concert

The Opening Concert is the official launch of the Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth and includes numerous winners of the Toyota Golden Guitars, the outgoing Toyota Star Maker, the outgoing Toyota Busking Champion, and the outgoing Macca’s Golden Gig winner.

 

Featured artists include the 2023 Toyota Golden Guitar Female Artist of the Year, Amber Lawrence, 2023 Toyota Golden Guitar Male Artist of the Year Andrew Swift, 2023 Toyota Golden Guitar winners Lyn Bowtell and Luke O’Shea, 2023 Toyota Star Maker Loren Ryan, 2023 Golden Gig, Sponsored by Maccas  winner Caitlyn Jamieson, daughter of Alisha Smith and the late Keith Jamieson, and 2023 Toyota Busking Champion Lane Pittman who was in the top two on Keith Urban’s team in The Voice 2022, and who went on to tour on the Luke Combs tour in 2023.

 

There’ll be a performance by graduates of the CMAA Academy and at 9:30pm a spectacular firework display will signify that the festival has begun. The night will also be compered by Sam McClymont.

 

Saturday, 20 January - Jayne Denham’s Girls’ Night Out

A country girl with a rock’n’roll heart; join five-time Golden Guitar nominee, Jayne Denham for a Girl’s Night Out in Toyota Park. Joining Jayne for this event are special guests Kaitlyn Thomas, and Ella & Sienna.

 

Sunday, 21 January - Toyota Star Maker Top 10 Grand Final

Now in its 44th year, Star Maker is Australia’s most prestigious and longest running search for a new country music star. It has been the catalyst to the successful journey of many of Australian country music’s biggest names including Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, James Blundell, and numerous others. It’s also well-known to shining a spotlight on all the finalists, with many appreciating the springboard it gives them.

 

The grand final event will include performances from the Top 10 finalists Dakota East, Ethan Calway, Felicity Dowd, Jay Santilli, Jake Whittaker, Jimbo Stokes, Jemma Beech, Nathan Lamont, Piper Rodrigues, and Wade Forster, with one crowned as the 2024 Toyota Star Maker winner.

 

There will be special appearances from three nominees in the 2024 Golden Guitar Awards; Loren Ryan will bid farewell to her year as the 2023 Toyota Star Maker and welcome in the new year with a nomination in the New Talent of the Year; six-times 2024 Golden Guitar nominee, Travis Collins returns to the Star Maker stage, after taking home the title in 2004; and festival ambassador and 2024 Golden Guitar nominee, Max Jackson, the 2022 Toyota Star Maker, will return to host the evening.

Monday, 22 January - Americana In The Park

One of the fastest growing sub-genres of the country music scene, Americana is proving to be a fast moving and ever-growing culture within Australian country music. At the 52nd Toyota Country Music Festival, Americana in the Park will showcase the very best this genre has to offer, with some of the best Americana artists taking to the stage, including The Pleasures, Kristy Cox, Jen Mize & The Rough N’Tumble and The Cartwheels, with the night hosted by Melody Moko.

 

Tuesday, 23 January - Bands On The Run

There are dozens of fabulous country music bands in Tamworth during the festival; on the run from all over the country. Joining the Bands On The Run line-up all the way from Western Australia is Indigenous group Kimberley Gold, Byron Bay siblings The Buckleys, plus the Open Season Band from the Sunshine State, and Newcastle’s Hurricane Fall. Tamworth booking agent and star of the Whispering Jack Show, Mike Vee, will host the evening.

 

Wednesday, January 24 - Back To The Bush Spectacular

Shining a light on the iconic and traditional sub-genre of country music, the 2024 Festival will once again see the industry’s prolific bush balladeers take to the stage for the Back to The Bush Spectacular. Hosted by Peter Simpson and Dianne Lindsay, the lineup will celebrate the icons, as well as more than 40 bush balladeers, including Alice Benfer, Alisha Smith, Anita Ree, Anne Kirkpatrick, Anthony Baxter, Ashley Cook, Caitlyn Jamieson, Coad Sisters, Crosby Sisters, Dally Croft, David Kirkpatrick, Dean Perrett, Ernie Constance, Greg Bain, Howdy & Dubby, Jeff Brown, Jim Hermel, Laurel Calvert, Lindsay Butler, Lindsay Waddington, Lorraine Pfitzner, Melissa Bajric, Peter Coad, Reg Poole, Shaza Leigh, Steve Sparrow, Tom Maxwell, Terry Gordon, Zac Anthony plus special guests.

 

Thursday, January 25 - Live ‘N’ Local

A cavalcade of locally grown artists hosted by two-times Golden Guitar winner Aleyce Simmonds will shine a spotlight on many of the artists who call the Tamworth region home. From world-renowned rock legend Andrew Farriss to four-times Golden Guitar nominated Allison Forbes there’s so many quality performers. See Lawrie Minson and his rockabilly queen Shelley Minson, Gunnedah’s singer-songwriter

Katrina Burgoyne visiting home after five years in Nashville. You’ll also see new artists like Alex Jeans who is fresh off this year’s The Voice stage, and 16-year-old Bella Dior, a graduate of the CMAA Junior Academy. All these artists will be backed by Tamworth guitarist Michael Cole and his star-studded band.

 

Friday, January 26 - Reflect, Respect, Celebrate Australia

Australia Day in Toyota Park will be a time to reflect, respect and celebrate our great nation, with a concert that will include performances and ceremony from Red Dust featuring Len Waters, Mark Atkins, Hester Frazer, Anthony Walmsley, Quarralia Knox, Noah Overs the Band and Friends, plus Crazy Train will play all the classic Aussie tunes you know and love. The Bushwackers featuring Dobe Newton, Roger Corbett and a cast of thousands join the show and a fireworks display will light the night at 9:45pm.

 

Saturday, January 27 - Country Rocks

Another great line up from the Country Rocks team includes 2023 Golden Guitar New Talent of the Year winners Darlinghurst, country-infused rockers Brewn with lead singer and guitarist Michael Bond, Anthony Barbara on lead guitar, twin brother John Barbara on drums, James Cox on bass, and Billy Gordon on keys, sister sibling trio, Vixens of Fall, country rocker Ben Ransom, rock chick Ingrid Mae, Americana singer-songwriter Duncan Phillips, alt-country rockers Copperline with frontman Brad Christmas on lead vocals and guitar, Richie Gosling on bass and backing vocals, Paul Handel on guitar and backing vocals, and Gareth Richards on drums and backing vocals, and contemporary cowboy Ronnie Joudo.

 

Sunday, January 28 - 2023 Toyota Best Of The Buskers

New talent will be discovered at the Toyota Best of the Buskers night in the park. Across the 10-days of the festival the top 10 buskers will be chosen by the judges and invited to compete against each other for the ultimate glory, to be crowned the 2024 Toyota Busking Champion. The final concert in Toyota Park will also include a special performance from 2023 winner Lane Pittman.
