The French department of Le Var, is France’s leading tourist department after Paris

It is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur between the Mediterranean and the Alps. 

Le Var is known for its 400 km of coastline, with 230 beaches and coves and seaside resorts including Saint-Tropez. 

There are fine examples of Romanesque and other medieval architecture. 

The area also has a national park and two regional nature parks. 

A destination rich in history and culture, Le Var enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year. 

From the Verdon Canyon to the Mediterranean, through the hilltop villages in the hinterland, Le Var is the world's leading producer of rosé wine.
