Moon viewing on a full moon night(September 29)

In Japan, Chushu no Meigetsu or "the full moon of mid-autumn," has traditionally been believed to be the most beautiful of the year.

This year, that night falls on September 29.

There are many shrines and temples that host ceremonies to honour the moon around this evening, including gagaku court music, kyogen comedy plays, and kagura dances for the deities.

Some of the shrines and temples that host such events are: Kodai-ji Temple, Daikaku-ji Temple, Shinsen-en Garden, Shimogamo-jinja Shrine, Kamigamo-jinja Shrine, Hirano-jinja Shrine.
