The Pearl Portfolio in Sri Lanka

The Pearl Portfolio, is a newly launched collection of boutique villas and hotels across Sri Lanka. 

Sri Lanka is a South Asian island country in the Indian Ocean formerly known as Ceylon. 

It gained independence from Great Britain in 1948 and was admitted to the United Nations in 1956. Sri Lanka attracts visitors for its natural beauty that embraces beaches, wildlife, ancient ruins, and cultural experiences. 

The Pearl Portfolio represents boutique properties that enjoy a rich history, support local communities, and have a sustainable approach to guest activities.

Santani Wellness Resort 

Named after the Sanskrit word meaning in harmony with, the Santani offers retreats that ‘cleanse the mind and body through a unique mix of Ayurveda, detox and cleansing, yoga, and relaxation’. 

Owner Vickum Nawagamuwage has launched a new stress retreat aimed at helping patients manage the daily intrusion of technology in their lives. 

Galoya Lodge 

Located in one of the quieter national parks, Galoya Lodge offers ‘escape from the modern world’.

With no internet and limited phone signal, guests can take in the wildlife and observe elephants swimming across the river. 

The lodge also provides an opportunity to learn how to forage with the last true Vedda tribe on the island. 

It has launched a new wildlife research centre that offers free accommodation to those conducting specific animal research.

It provides relaxation high up in the tea hills. The bungalow has just launched a new writer's retreat that incorporates temple walks, making use of the luxury bungalow, jacuzzi, and pool.

Rosyth Estate House 

Rosyth Estate House offers nature walks with an on-site naturalist and treasure hunts for children, while parents can participate in activities such as tea plucking tours, mountain biking, and farm-to-table cookery classes using ingredients from the organic garden. 

Rosyth has recently launched a tea-making experience where guests learn to make tea with the pluckers in the social enterprise tea factory.

Located on the lesser-known east coast, Karpaha Sands offers a five-day horse-riding retreat along the 13km coastline.
