We’ve rounded up the top Queensland road trip destinations to embark on a search for the mythical Yowie, otherwise known as Bigfoot – a fun trip for the whole family and big kids at heart.

With claims of countless Bigfoot sightings in the region, this itinerary is perfect for thrill-seekers looking to venture into the great Aussie bush, as well as potentially spot the infamous Bigfoot.

The itinerary forms part of Hit Network radio hosts Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye’s nationwide search for one of the world’s most elusive creatures Bigfoot. The boys will be in Kilcoy this week before heading to Brisbane on Saturday to connect with local Bigfoot Hunters Dean and Gary Lynn and visit Karawatha Forest Park and Springbrook National Park in Brisbane.

Bigfoot Bounty road trip destinations:

Kilcoy, Sunshine Coast

When it comes to tourism, some places have reefs or rainforests, but on Queensland Sunshine Coast's hinterland, in the small town of Kilcoy, they have the Yowie. Kilcoy, also known as ‘Yowie Country’ is the epicentre of alleged sightings of the mythological, ape-like bush creatures dating all the way back to the late 1800s. From yowie-themed parks and hotels to Yowie-burgers, this is a must-see stop on your road trip.

Karawatha Forest Park, Brisbane

Over the years Yowie Sightings Australia have shared potential sightings, including in Karawatha Forest. The forest is approximately 900 hectares and is one of the largest areas of remnant bushland within Brisbane. Whether you’re bushwalking on the lookout for Bigfoot or sitting back to enjoy a picnic surrounded by nature’s finest, Karawatha Forest is has a range of walking tracks and trails to explore the Aussie bush lands.

Springbrook National Park, Brisbane

With spectacular waterfalls, ancient trees, and impressive views makes Springbrook an bucket-list destintation for those who appreciate the natural beauty of Australian landscapes. Bigfoot Hunters Dean Harrison claims that in the park, he’s snapped a series of thermal images in bushland that 'prove' the mythical creature exists.

Jimmy and Nath
Jimmy and Nath are calling on Aussies to join them on their search for the chance to win a $10,000 cash prize. As part of the competition, teams will hit the road with various challenges in Sydney before reaching the Blue Mountains to battle it out for $10,000 cash prize. Entries close 7th June.
