Fruits Festival Week in Ho Chi Minh City

More than 300 booths of traders and gardeners from provinces and cities of the South-west and South-east regions will participate in display and introduction of delicious fruits and typical products in the Fruits Festival Week 2023 in District 8 (Ho Chi Minh City), scheduled to take place from 17th to 22nd June on the route of Binh Dong wharf area.

According to the People’s Committee of District 8, the event aims to recreate and introduce to tourists and local people a unique culture of a once-bustling river port of District 8, gradually raising the scale into the traditional fruit festival with meaning "Ferries pass back and forth in the busy port" and becoming one of the unique cultural festival events of Ho Chi Minh City.

This year, the festival continues to displaying and introducing typical fruits, specialties made from fruits, folk cakes of Southern localities. Simultaneously, the Organising Board set up a unique stage area, vivid images associated with the South-west River region, every night there will be a professional art performance programme with various genres to serve the public for sightseeing and shopping. Besides, there are also booths for visitors to experience wrapping - cooking bamboo leaf ú cake, Ba Trang cake under the guidance of artisans and take souvenir photos.

Other activities include art painting, design and decoration of conical hats according to the drawing requirements of visitors; art coconut leaf folding activity - bringing the public back to the memories of childhood by the fields, rivers…

Fruits Festival Week 2023 will offer locals and visitors an opportunity to enjoy delicious fruits, specialties of the South-East and South-West regions; Immerse yourself in the lively and bustling space with games and folk cakes combined with singing forms "ho, xu, xang, xe, cong" of the Southern river region.

The Fruits Festival Week 2022 welcomed 3.1 visitor arrivals to enjoy and shopping. The event is a good contribution to promote typical tourism products as well as brands of specialty fruits in the South to the public.
