The best Whitsunday island & why we ♥ our job

Why we are passionate about introducing people to sailing

A "skipper yourself" charter holiday can be as action-packed or as relaxing as you choose, but there's no getting away from the fact that a holiday living on a boat is pretty adventurous.

While very enjoyable and relaxing, boating holidays are not an 'easy' type of holiday, say compared to a week of resort lounging (you can always visit a resort mid charter to get that fix). There are weather conditions to consider, location decisions to make, navigation to be done, and organised group efforts needed to manoeuvre your vessel from one destination to another.

The rewards, however, are immense; Remote, pristine beaches, warm tropical waters and views to take your breath away. But perhaps the greatest bareboating reward is the sense of achievement your crew will feel as they develop their boating skills and work together to have a truly unforgettable experience.

If you have a novice crew, rest assured that you will be trained and supported all the way through your holiday with us.

Our team are passionate about supporting visitors to experience the Whitsundays from a yacht. Firstly, the Whitsunday are a world-class destination, and as locals, we love to show them off! On a more personal level, most of our staff are passionate sailors who get a thrill from introducing people to an activity we love. We feel immense satisfaction when guests come away from their charter with a sense of accomplishment, having challenged themselves, learnt new skills and put them into practice – all while enjoying a beautiful area.

Be inspired by a recent girls only crew who chartered without any previous boating experience.

When asked what advice she would give anyone thinking of bareboating for the first time, Elara suggested:

“Start the conversation NOW because the longer you wait while sitting hunched over your desk, the further you are away from an adventure with your best friends and a piña colada in your hand!”
