What else is near the Golden Gate Theatre?
The Golden Gate Theatre is part of San Francisco's Civic Center neighborhood. There are plenty of places here that are perfect for a pre-show meal or cocktail.

You'll find few bars as stylish as Charmaine's, the rooftop lounge at the nearby Proper Hotel. Mikkeller Bar SF is known for their rare bottled and tap beer selections. Shovels Bar & Restaurant offers whisky flights with global selections.

If you've got a big group to feed, Bartlett Hall has plenty of space and many crowd-pleasers on the menu. If Vietnamese food is your favorite, you're in luck; a nearby corner of the neighborhood is so packed with Vietnamese restaurants that it's earned the name "Little Saigon".

If you have time to wander a little further, you'll find plenty of options along Hayes Street. Absinthe Brasserie & Bar's Parisian ambiance will really elevate your evening. Zuni Cafe is a San Francisco institution. Fair warning: their signature roast chicken takes a while to prepare, so make your reservations well ahead of showtime.

Some of San Francisco's most talented chefs have set up shop in this neighborhood. Try Rich Table, run by Evan and Sarah Rich, or Monsieur Benjamin, from Chef Corey Lee, for some delectable dining.

The theater is also a short walk from Union Square, home to luxury hotels, fine dining, and top name brand retail.
