Queensland shines during NRL Grand Final Series

Queensland was in the national spotlight during Sunday's NRL Grand Final, with a spectacular showcase of Queensland’s tourism experiences and destinations aired during the broadcast as Channel Nine celebrated the NRL Trophy Tour, which visited nine regions across the state.

This was the highest-rating grand final in four years, with more than 3.2 million television viewers tuning in. There were also tens of thousands of fans at Suncorp Stadium who came to witness the Penrith Panthers take home the NRL Grand Final trophy.

The NRL also engaged Brisbane-based artist, Bastian Allfrey, to paint a special mural on Elizabeth Street in Brisbane to celebrate this historic moment, which visitors can enjoy for the next eight weeks.

The success of the Grand Final Series is expected to deliver $19 million to the Queensland economy.
