SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, Madame Tussauds Sydney and SEA LIFE Melbourne will re-open on 1st June, followed closely behind by LEGOLAND Discovery Centre which will re-open on 4th June.
The iconic attractions will once again welcome guests to experience their magic with extra measures in place to ensure peace of mind, health and safety. These hygiene and safety measures include actions such as becoming completely cashless operations, lowering capacity limits with allocated time-slots for guests, the use of additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clothing for staff, the provision of spatial separation markings, the installation of hygiene screens in various areas, enhanced cleaning regimes and other similar operating adjustments around the attractions. “We are incredibly pleased to welcome the public back into our attractions and do what we do best; create opportunities for magical memories for all,” said Rob Smith, Divisional Director for Merlin Entertainments APAC.
“Of course, safety is our number one priority and we won't put that at risk, so we feel extremely confident to take this next step. Our established infrastructure, experience and operations mean we have the right measures and policies in place to re-open safely to protect our staff and guests”.
Since Government restrictions meant the closure of Merlin's sites in March, the attractions were one of the first to establish the 'virtual' aquarium and zoo, bringing the magic of the attractions into living rooms across Australia. From quokka cuddles, flippin' good penguin times, LEGO workshops, Friday story time and feeding time with funnel web spiders and salt-water crocs; Merlin Entertainments took Australians on new adventures every day from the comfort of their own home. Now, with the doors set to re-open, guests are invited to visit their animal, wax and LEGO friends and re-ignite their passion for both outdoor and indoor adventures and experiences.
Commenting on the importance of re-opening to the public Rob continued, “Re-opening our doors will allow for households to enjoy a quality, fun and educational time in the attraction's indoor and outdoor environments at a time when people are going to need a fun day out more than ever. As a company we exist to make people happy. Now in particular our role is so important to families and the wider community as they start to look forward to a brighter future where they can enjoy time together making memorable experiences. Also, all guests will need to book online and in advance so they don't miss out!”
