  • Take in an outdoor flick at the Yatala Drive-In, where the team has pulled out all the stops to make your film experience social-distancing friendly.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs

Offering a multitude of impressive city vantage points from on top of the cliffs or below, there's also some seriously good walking and cycling paths by the river to get you moving.

New Farm Park

Be sure to bring along your deck chairs and picnic rugs for a fun-filled day that can be enjoyed by the young and the old in this expansive park.

City Botanic Gardens

This lush, manicured subtropical park in the city heart bound by the river has plenty of grassy spaces on which to spread a blanket – also a perfect base for a walk over the Goodwill Bridge to South Bank

Wynnum and Manly

Pick up some freshly-cooked fish and chips from Cambridge Parade and choose from a number of green spots along the Wynnum-Manly foreshore, where you can admire the boats in the marina or look out to Moreton Island.

Shorncliffe Pier

This is arguably Brisbane's most famous pier so go out for a look or toss in a line before picnicking in adjacent Moora Park and then taking a seafront stroll along the captivatingly-named Lovers' Lane.

Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha

Botanists could spend days here captivated by the incredible range of trees and plants on show but, for the rest of us, these beautiful gardens are a perfect respite from city life.

Sherwood Arboretum

Native Queensland trees are a feature of this heritage riverfront park, as is its birdlife – so spread out your picnic rug in a truly Queensland-inspired subtropical space.

Enoggera Reservoir

Located at the base of D'Aguilar National Park, Enoggera Reservoir gives you the chance to get back to nature with eagles, echidnas and koalas among other animals often spotted here.

River Quay

South Bank's riverfront River Quay is the perfect spot to pick up a hamper from one of the adjacent restaurants and relax on the grass overlooking the river.
