Is This Most Opulent Villa in Australia? Step Inside the Hermes Luxury Retreat to Find Out

Hermes Estate Luxury Retreat
Arriving at the Hermes Estate Luxury Retreat, you instantly feel a sense of calm. A sprawling 5-acre property adjoining the pristine Never Never River in the sleepy town of Gleniffer, the very private hotel is everything you need for “reopulence” – also known as 'relaxing opulence.' Guests hire the entire estate, and as the only guest, all attention is on you. Offering both private vacation stays, and private wellness stays (with professional, qualified wellness staff), your every need is catered to.

Drive through the custom-made branded iron gates of the property, along a path lined with manicured trees, and be welcomed by the property's Butler and concierge. Complimentary Dom Perignon greets vacation guests, and delicious herbal beverages greet wellness guests.

As you walk through the doors you're filled with an instant serenity as you enjoy the wide-open spaces, views of the Dorrigo National Park Mountains, and greenery as far as the eye can see with fresh flowers in abundance. With a French-inspired décor, the distinctly decorated earth-tones and gilded interiors are complete with Russian artist Ladovsky's pieces adorning the walls.

The exclusive two-bedroom villa (with king size beds made up with 800 thread count sheets & pillow top mattresses) is 300sqm (3229 ft). A full size granite kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances houses a high end coffee machine and private fridge.

Originally built in the 1980's and now under the care of its third owners, the Estate has had a complete transformation to the tune of six million dollars, whilst still maintaining the majority of its original vintage features. Ducted ceiling speakers allow guests to easily connect to music media via WIFI and have their favourite sounds filling the space.

With property features including a private media TV room (also the only room allowing smoking, with premium cigars on hand), and a library complete with Charles Dickens' 1867 first edition purchased by the owner at auction over 14 years ago, this is the kind of property where there's no bible by your bed, but rather a whole cabinet complete with vintage (and well cherished) books. Just walk past the bookshelf and inhale the history. Guests will also enjoy a private dip pool/ hot tub nestled on their private balcony.

A private spa studio with a memory foam therapy bed is poised and ready for guests to enjoy their choice of a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. And if indulgent treatments aren't your thing, simply relax either in the refined living area or on the outdoor terrace, overlooking lush gardens and the duck pond. In winter, a roaring fire can add a romantic ambience to the space. The stunning gardens are brimming with white Hydrangeas, Viburnum Opulus Roseum, Twin Agave, white

Zephyranthus, white Impatiens, Buxus topiary, white and mauve Agapanthus, marble statues and towering Magnolia trees. A gorgeous place for a private elopement!

The refurbishment has taken almost three years to complete, and there's still more to come including an infinity pool and pool house with spa, gym and sauna. Also in progress are a yoga/ art/ day studio, a tennis court and an on site helipad. Helicopters may currently land on the paddock and the chauffeur will escort guests to the villa. In the meantime, guests can swim in the pure Never Never River which adjoins the retreat, and also serves the property with mountain-fresh mineral water following a three-phase UV filtering system.

With a personal Butler and Chef at the ready, guests can enjoy either a 'wellness' or 'vacation' menu where local organic produce is sourced from the Bellingen area. Guests can indulge, knowing that all meals are prepared by their international French chef, whilst they dine from Stirling Silver branded Hermes Estate cutlery, embroidered branded napkins, and Villeroy & Boch™ plates, sipping their favourite drop from Waterford® crystal.

No expense has been spared at this property, which fetches A$5,000 per night for a minimum 2-night stay, all inclusive. Located just 12 minutes' drive from Australia's most beautiful town, Bellingen and 45 minutes' drive from Coffs Harbour airport, this property raises the calibre of accommodation in an area that's been voted as Australia's 'Town Of The Year' 2020 by Wotif. The property is only a 50 minute jet or helicopter flight from Sydney or Brisbane. Complimentary luxury chauffeur-driven transfers are also available for guests.
