According to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), six types of venues will be allowed to reopen. Their reopening will also follow the Government's strict health measures and guidelines, as Thailand continues its efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The six types of business and activities that will be allowed to reopen are:
1. Markets (fresh markets, flea market, floating markets, community markets, walking streets, and street-vendor operations);
2. Food shops (food shops, drink shops, street food vendors, dessert and ice-cream shops), excluding those located in shopping malls;
3. Retail businesses (supermarkets, convenience stores, carts, vendors, telecom shops, and small restaurants, but physical distancing measures must be applied for sit-in customers);
4. Sports and recreation areas (parks and outdoor sporting venues), with the exception of team and competition sports, which remain suspended;
5. Beauty salons (only for hair cutting, washing, and drying);
6. Pet salons and pet nurseries.
These venues will be allowed to reopen under strict physical distancing conditions. For example, restaurants will need to implement strict health measures, including setting up tables at least 1 meter apart. The Government also emphasizes that it will assess the situation every 14 days. If the rate of COVID-19 infections rises, the Government will reapply the strict measures.
Meanwhile, the ban on alcohol sales is continuing until further notice.
