Paint your Japan in full bloom

Overlooking the beautiful Lake Ashi with Mt. Fuji in the backdrop, Odakyu Hotel de Yama boasts a mature flower garden with a rich profusion of vivid azaleas that bloom from early to mid-May. There are about 30 azalea varieties here, including those cultivated during the Edo period. The property was once a villa of Baron Koyata Iwasaki (1879-1945), and a visit here is as much about the history as it is about the scenery.
