Celebrating Museum Week online Monday 11 - Sunday 17 May 2020

Now more than ever people can discover, engage, learn and connect with the entire Queensland Museum Network to celebrate Museum Week from Monday 11 - Sunday 17 May via the Museum at Home website and social channels.

An international annual event, this year Museum of Tropical Queensland will once again explore Museum Week's daily # themes online which includes acknowledging the heroes, technology and memorable moments in arts and culture.

Curator dives into National Archaeology Week

Museum of Tropical Queensland will be diving into National Archaeology Week online from 17 - 23 May by bringing you 7 Shipwrecks in 7 Days with Senior Curator, Maritime Archaeology Dr Maddy McAllister.

Each day via social media Dr McAllister will be highlighting a different wreck from the State Maritime Collection held at Museum of Tropical Queensland and chatting about a unique object recovered from each wreck.

The videos and stories can be viewed via the museum's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels.

Free
Children and parents alike will love the treasure trove of free online learning resources and acitvities currently available online from Queensland Museum Network.

There is wide range of curriculum aligned worksheets, activities and reading resources covering all elements of science, arts and culture. Users can highlight their favourites and create a collection of resources to suit their interests and needs.
