The Amazing Sapporo Snow Festival

Sapporo Snow Festival 
Using one of Sapporo's most abundant natural resources and their imaginations, a few students fashioned several snow sculptures in Odori Park way back in 1950. 

Fast-forward to today, and the Sapporo Snow Festival is a wintertime extravaganza that draws millions every year. 

Visit for a taste of Hokkaido hospitality, great food and drink, and stunning illuminations.

The 71st Sapporo Snow Festival has begun! Check out these photos taken today at the main Odori site!

Sapporo Snow Festival is an iconic annual event that features various spectacular snow and ice sculptures, across 3 different sites in Sapporo city.

This year, at the main Odori Site, there is a special large snow sculpture to commemorate the opening of “UPOPOY - NATIONAL AINU MUSEUM and PARK”, which is set to open on 24 April 2020!
There are also many stores where you can purchase food and souvenirs.

Besides the large snow sculptures, the main Odori Site and the Susukino Site also exhibits many various smaller ice sculptures.

Sapporo Snow Festival 
The Tsudome Site, which is located slightly away from the city center, has various snow slides, snow rafts and other attractions for the whole family to enjoy.
Everyone will be able to enjoy a true Hokkaido experience, playing in the snow!
