Simply book a full tour package with us for seven nights plus, and guests will have the opportunity to take the early morning adventure and see the wondrous sights from the air starting from Kandalama, Dambulla in the Cultural Triangle. Flying over the jungle they are likely to see elephants roaming freely, a variety of birds, water buffaloes standing in the paddy fields and monkeys swinging from the trees while having the famous Sigiriya Rock in view.
The climate in Dambulla during this time is exceptional for flying balloons due to its calm and predictable nature. Flying over lakes, tropical jungle, wildlife, friendly locals and the beauty if the Sri Lankan landscape, the distance covered can vary, depending on wind speed and direction, though guests could travel up to ten miles. Also, the height of the balloon journey will change from tree top level, where one enjoys contour flying at low level to several thousand feet up: the perfect vantage point to observe the majesty of the area.
Before the flight, guests are offered a light Sri Lankan snack for breakfast at the take-off launch site while they watch the balloons being inflated.
After landing, guests can celebrate in style with a glass of sparkling wine, juice and cake while the pilot hands their personalised flight certificate. The flight time is approximately one hour (give or take ten minutes, dependant on conditions), enabling guests to then have a full day to continue their holiday.
