ESCAPE WINTER AND GIDDY UP TO THE GOLDIE FOR GROUNDWATER COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Local Gold Coast artist and fan-favourite
Casey Barnes will return to Groundwater this year
Buckle up, Australia’s fastest-growing country music festival, Groundwater, is just around the corner with the sun shining, Broadbeach hotels filling up fast, and incredible country artists like Lee Kernaghan, Davisson Brothers Band (USA), The Wolfe Brothers, Tex Perkins and Beccy Cole preparing to hit the stage. All live and all FREE – 50 artists across 15 stages.
“Current indications are that accommodation in Broadbeach for Groundwater is at 95% occupancy and with the beautiful weather, world class festival program and the destination of the Gold Coast we are expecting a growth in attendance to around 70,000,” said Broadbeach Alliance CEO, Jan McCormick. “Where else would you want to be in the middle of winter?”
There aren’t too many festivals where you can get kitted out head to toe in the hottest country gear, drink a cocktail from a souvenir glass country boot, directly support our Australian farmers, and vote in a competition to win a holiday onboard P&0 Cruises inaugural Country Cruise. In 2019,Groundwater has partnered with some like-minded brands to do exactly this across the FREE three-day festival that will be held on the Gold Coast on July 26-28.
An online competition between Groundwater and country clothing brand Ariat asks fans to tag their friends and comment on what they are most looking forward to at the festival for a chance to win a full Ariat outfit for themselves and their friend. In just one week of launching, the competition post has been going gangbusters on social media with many saying they are most excited to see new artists, make memories, and meet new friends.
Many others said they were keen to look like the real deal at the festival, which will be made possible at the Ariat merchandise tent located at Kurrawa Park, allowing you to shop for their cool country-style clothing while listening to your favourite artists play. Plus, Ariat Ambassador and Groundwater favourite, Drew McAlister, will be performing at the Ariat tent on Saturday July 27 at 12:30pm along with his two other Groundwater shows.
Groundwater is proud to partner with Aussie charity Drought Angels who provide much needed physical and mental support for our battling Aussie farmers. There will be several collection points around the festival precinct and their volunteers will be encouraging patrons to dig deep. Australian-owned milk brand, Norco, is supporting them with a van at Kurrawa Park where you can try their iced coffee and donate money to Drought Angels.
Our mates at @NorcoMilk know just how hard it can be on the land and this is why they are working alongside Drought Angels to raise money at Groundwater Country Music Festival.
Norco Foods Brand Manager, Yasmine Kon says, “Visit the guys at the Norco Van at Groundwater on Sunday 28th July and for a gold coin donation you can get your caffeine hit with Norco REAL Iced Coffee. All money donated on the day will be passed directly on to the Drought Angels.”
Groundwater is partnering with P&0 Cruises for the first time to launch the inaugural P&O Cruises People’s Choice Awards. This exciting new Groundwater initiative gives you the chance to get involved and vote for your favourite artist, giving Groundwater artists recognition they deserve. The vote also puts you in the running to win the ultimate holiday for two on P&0 Cruises inaugural Country Cruise sailing from Brisbane in December 2019.
Another one-of-a-kind competition at Groundwater gives you the chance to win an LJ16 series Yamaha Guitar signed by some of our 2019 Groundwater artists thanks to Yamaha. Just leave your contact details at the festival information office or with the Groundwater research crew at the festival and you will be emailed a post festival survey. Once you complete and return this survey you are in for a chance to win this money can’t buy prize.
The thriving festival precinct of Broadbeach also offers relaxing experiences for you to sit back, relax, sip on a coffee or indulge in some of the finest cuisine in the country. Head over to Oracle Boulevard opposite Victoria Park to treat yourself to their BOOTLICIOUS range of cocktail inspired drinks like Beergarita, presented in your very own keepsake glass cowboy boot.
This year’s Groundwater Country Music Festival is sure to please country fans with more than 50 incredible acts performing across 15 stages throughout Broadbeach’s bars, restaurants, streets and parks. Don’t miss the award-winning Australian Outback Spectacular at The Outback Arena at Kurrawa Park where stockmen and stockwomen will showcase a spectacular synchronised ride featuring the Australian Flag and I Still Call Australia Home.
Groundwater Country Music Festival is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar, worth $800m to the state’s economy in 2019.
Your perfect next event is in Queensland, where live events combine with the most incredible destinations, and life is beautiful one day, perfect the next.
