Wyndham Vacation Club Expands Presence on Victoria's Phillip Island, Australia

Club Wyndham South Pacific has expanded its presence on Phillip Island, with Wyndham Vacation Club today announcing the acquisition of an additional 83 villas at Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island.

Wyndham Vacation Club Asia Pacific has purchased the inventory for Club Wyndham South Pacific, which offers a member base of close to 60,000 vacation owners the opportunity to holiday at a network of 51 resorts across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia, Thailand, Europe, Japan and Hawaii in the USA by using an innovative credits system.

President and Managing Director, International Operations, Wyndham Vacation Club, Barry Robinson, said the inventory acquisition gives club members greater ability to stay at Phillip Island during peak periods.

“Ramada Phillip Island typically experiences periods of exceptionally high demand throughout the year that coincide with its vibrant calendar, which includes the MotoGP and V8 Supercars race. This acquisition gives our members a greater ability to experience these world class events and, importantly, gives us the ability to satisfy our growing clubs now and into the future,” Mr. Robinson said.

“This acquisition will also provide club members with additional room types that have not previously been available, including deluxe and grand apartments, which we expect will be popular at the resort.”

All new and existing inventory will undergo a significant refurbishment program that will include upgraded kitchens and bathrooms and a new level of luxury in the deluxe and grand villas, expected to start in September and conclude in the first quarter of 2020.

Since its addition to the club in 2012, Ramada Phillip Island has proven a popular location for club members, with occupancy reaching 100 per cent during peak periods and averaging in the high 70 per cent range annually.

Ramada Phillip Island is a mixed-use resort set on 65 acres and surrounded by native gardens and bushland, featuring a range of villas currently utilised by Club Wyndham South Pacific members, resort guests and permanent residents.

Just a two-hour drive from the Melbourne CBD, the resort offers spacious and fully equipped guest rooms ranging from studios to two and three-bedroom villas. It also features the onsite Numbers Bar & Eatery, two swimming pools, children's pool, a gym, sauna and spa, and two tennis courts.

The property is managed by Resort Management by Wyndham, a subsidiary of Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific. Wyndham Destinations, the world's largest timeshare and exchange company, and its local subsidiaries manage 63 timeshare, mixed-use and hotel developments across the Asia Pacific region.
