Wildlife Viewing in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada

Arowhon Pines Resort offering a Wildlife Viewing package to enjoy Spring's natural wonders.

Algonquin Park is Ontario's largest wilderness park, located three hours from Toronto.  It's 7635 square kilometers of lakes, bogs, forests and rivers - a tremendous place to reconnect with nature, whether it be the unspoiled landscape or the chance meeting with a moose or fox.

Spring offers the year's best Moose viewing and you don't have to search very hard to see them.  The application of salt to Highway 60 during the winter attracts Moose to roadside ditches. You'll probably see a half dozen or more of these magnificent animals during a leisurely drive along Highway 60 or on a trail or by canoe.

Arowhon Pines is a fifty-room resort located off the beaten track, 8 km off the highway, a three hour drive from Toronto. They are offering a Wildlife Viewing package to enjoy Spring wildlife in Algonquin Park. Dates are May 31 to June 20, 2019. The rate is $587.00 (Canadian) per person for two nights, all inclusive.

Your mid-week stay includes:

-Two nights accommodation in private rooms in log cabins.  All rooms have a private bathroom; the cabin has a spacious lounge with couches and chairs around a wood burning fireplace, shared with other guests.

-Three meals per day served in our heritage log dining room with wrap-around verandah overlooking the lake and towering central fireplace.  All food is made from scratch using fresh, seasonal, quality ingredients and prepared with care by a team of chefs.  Early bird coffee and muffins, packed lunches to go and afternoon tea and scones are all part of the dining experience.  Guests begin dinner by helping themselves to appetizers such as house made pâtés, healthy salads, perhaps crispy duck in moo-shu pancake, shrimp dumplings or scallops with watercress.  Entrees are served at the table - baked halibut in a parmesan crust, smoked Berkshire ham baked and glazed with maple syrup, Canadian goose with wild rice or a classic sirloin of beef with thyme port sauce.  There is plenty for the vegetarian or those with special diets.  The dessert bar has too many choices to list, but among them is maple mousse, blueberry tarts, carrot cake and the resort’s famous butter tarts.

-All self-guided recreational facilities are included with your stay: canoe or kayak a series of lakes on a day trip, hike trails to see moose, fox, turtles, beavers, otters and birds including the Canadian loon, play tennis, swim in the lake, sail, SUP board or relax in our sauna.

-You can borrow a vehicle permit to explore all of Algonquin Park - there is a spectacular nature museum and bookstore, art gallery, historical logging museum as well as lectures and guided hikes, more interpretive trails and beaches, bike rentals - lots to explore!

-There are nightly bonfires under the stars and our in-house amateur astronomer will answer your questions

-Basic canoeing instruction for novices is available daily at no extra charge.
Canoe and/or trail guides are available at an extra charge.

- Bring their own wine and we will uncork your bottle free of charge in our dining room
