Pilgrimage Walk To Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Walking The World is offering Pilgrimage Walk tour to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, April 30 - May 12, 2019.

Walking the Camino de Santiago is a journey of the soul and spirit.  Drawing people today as it has for more than a thousand years, we’re accompanied on our journey to the tomb of St. James Son of Thunder and disciple of Jesus, by the memories of St. Francis of Assisi, John of Gaunt, Chaucer’s Wife of Bath, and even Pope John Paul when he was a young man.  Experience the rhythm of your staff hitting the ground, the road unrolling before you in the rain-washed landscape of Galicia, continuing footstep after footstep through ancient villages as you marvel at the timelessness of your journey.

During the day all you need is a small daypack with raingear, a light jacket or fleece, and water.  A highlight of the adventure will be the last day's trip to Finisterre, believed by the Romans to be the end of the world. Walkers from nearly every country worldwide embark on this walk that dates from the 9th Century.

Your adventure includes:

Walking The World

Walking The World has been leading small group walking tours on the Camino for more than 15 years. We are a small team of fellow travelers who search the world over for adventures that help us experience life to the fullest. Our goal, and our joy, is then developing adventures for you that incorporate active travel in the great outdoors, cultural immersion, and the sampling of some of the world’s best food and drink. Along the way of course, you’ll experience untold beauty, make new friends, reawaken some of the primitive joy and wonder that might have gone dormant over the years, feel renewed strength in muscles waiting to be challenged, and touch again that joyous, uplifting sense of being truly alive.
