Chinese urged to hold incentives in Cairns & GBR

The Cairns & Great Barrier Reef region will be represented at two key events in China for the business events industry.

Director of Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef Rosie Douglas will be attending the Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase in Shanghai on 13-15 April.

Ms Douglas said the Showcase was being held in conjunction with the Australian Government’s Australia Week in China.

“The Chinese incentive market has great potential for our region as the Chinese are very interested in Australia’s natural attractions,” she said.

“Our dual World Heritage areas of the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics rainforest are high on their must-do list.

“The Showcase offers the opportunity to meet with key decision makers who are looking for international incentive destinations.

“I will have face-to-face meetings with around 80 agents, corporate buyers and media to sell the advantage of holding an incentive or corporate meeting in the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef region.”

Ms Douglas will be joining other Australian bureaux, hotels and attractions to showcase and promote Australia as a world-class business events destination.
