Play Ball! The beginning of April marks the return of America’s pastime to the Big Apple. On Tuesday, April, 5th, the New York Yankees will open the season against the Houston Astros in the Bronx, and the Mets will start their first home-stand of the season on Friday, April 8th against their rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies.

Baseball season has begun and the New York Yankees will play more than 80 home games this season at Yankee Stadium, located in the heart of the South Bronx’s Grand Concourse. While in town for the game, explore some of the neighbouring sites including:

Museums/Tours:

· Bronx Documentary Center, devoted entirely to the art of photo journalism, host exhibits, events, screenings and classes.
· The Bronx Museum of the Arts, (free admission) a cultural institution specializing in contemporary and Bronx art.
· Hush Hip Hop Tour, where visitors can learn about hip-hop in its birthplace.
· Heritage Field is a 10.8-acre ballpark (located at the site of the old Yankee Stadium), where visitors can start their own ball games, watch local high schools compete and see artefacts from the original stadium.
