Chinese Visitation Soars at Eureka Skydeck 88

Since opening in 2007, Eureka Skydeck has welcomed hundreds of thousands of Chinese visitors, both international and domestic. In 2014, Eureka Skydeck saw a 30% increase in Chinese visitors, making China its fastest growing international market.

Located on the 88th floor of Eureka Tower, Eureka Skydeck's location appeals to Chinese visitors as the number 8 is considered a symbol of luck and prosperity in Chinese culture.

Providing panoramic views of Melbourne with a spectacular outlook over the city's famous tourist attractions and landmarks, the popular observation deck offers complementary visitor guide booklets in simplified and traditional Chinese and employs Chinese speaking staff to enhance the visitor experience. Directional signage in Mandarin has also been incorporated around the Skydeck itself for visiting Chinese groups and tourists. The Skydeck continues to employ the services of a Chinese representative based in Shanghai to assist with sales and marketing activities to better nurture and promote the Skydeck to the Chinese market.

Further supporting communication to the Chinese market, the Skydeck is active on Chinese social media, engagement the Chinese market through Sina Weibo and Wehcat.
