Tourism Noosa CEO Damien Massingham said that the campaign is a colourful message showing that in the time it takes to rise on these wintry mornings, get ready and travel to work, you could be here – relaxing in the warmth of Noosa.
“The You Could Be Here campaign was officially launched in Melbourne last Monday which included a week of activities and a new initiative is the Noosa Pop-Up Beach House themed exhibition space at the highly visible Federation Square. Located on the corner of Melbourne's busiest intersection of Swanston and Flinders Street, the Noosa Pop-Up Beach House opened from early morning to early evening to entice Melburnians in to discover reasons why Noosa is such a great holiday choice at this time of year”.
As part of the activities a range of events will take place throughout each day with a live activation with Melbourne's leading radio station, Nova FM.
Activities throughout the week include:
- Monday - Outside broadcast with Nova FM, cooking demonstrations with Noosa Chef Shane Bailey from Noosa Boathouse, Body Art Painting with Julie Tattam – Australian Body Art Festival and jazz musician Andrew Swann from the Noosa Jazz Festival.
- Tuesday - Cooking demonstrations with Noosa Chef Shane Bailey, Body Art Painting with Julie Tattam and music with jazz musician Andrew Swann.
- Wednesday - Cooking demonstrations with Noosa Chef David Rayner from Thomas Corner Eatery Body Art Painting with Julie Tattam and music with jazz musician Andrew Swann.
- Thursday and Friday - Noosa wellbeing sessions with Luxe Fitness Escapes, cooking demonstrations with Noosa Chef David Rayner and jazz music from Andrew Swann.
- Saturday and Sunday - Noosa wellbeing sessions with Luxe Fitness Escapes and jazz music with Andrew Swann.
Visitors to the Noosa Pop-Up Beach House also had the opportunity to win a Noosa holiday including flights, accommodation, and weekend passes to the Noosa Jazz Festival in September.
In addition to Federation Square being full of Noosa inspiration, a stunning Noosa winter image was also prominently displayed on the digital screen above Young & Jacksons Hotel and Tourism Noosa's signature Noosa Melbourne tram is rolling through the streets each day till early spring in key areas in and around Federation Square including Toorak, South Yarra, St Kilda and along Swanston Street.

Noosa Councillor Frank Wilkie said that Melbourne is an important market for Noosa.
“Melbourne is our highest yielding market with a spend of $122 million to the year ending December 2014. The You Could Be Here campaign is all about showcasing Noosa's beautiful winter weather to those in cooler regions, and positions Noosa as the ideal holiday choice” Cr Wilkie said.
