HUNTER VALLEY IN WORLD TOP 10

Hunter Valley tourism operators are sure to raise a glass to news that American publisher USA Today’s readers have awarded the region a place in the top 10 Best Wine Regions in the world to visit.

The Hunter Valley was joined by Alentejo in Portugal, Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Maipo in Chile, Marlborough in New Zealand, Croatia, Napa Valley in California, Tuscany in Italy, Oregon and Virginia.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said she was delighted that the only wine region in Australia to be recognised was one from New South Wales.

“The Hunter Valley is constantly growing and developing incredible wines while simultaneously offering an unforgettable guest experience,” Ms Chipchase said.

“We’re thrilled the Hunter Valley has received this well-deserved recognition, which puts them amongst some of the most famous wine regions from all around the world.”

Nominees were carefully selected by an expert panel, before being voted into winner slots by USA Today readers.
