In pursuit of offering Turkey its due share in winter tourism, EMITT 2014 Fair brings together professional holidaymakers for the most convenient and enjoyable winter holidays under one roof, opening a new hall for winter tourism.

In another groundbreaking move, East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair EMITT which will be held for the 18th time at TÜYAP from January 30 to February 2 will open a new hall exclusively for winter tourism industry. EMITT 2014 Fair aims to increase the ranks of winter tourism and to spread its far reaching potential throughout all seasons in order to display Turkey’s climactic prosperity. Leading Turkish and international ski resorts, hotels and gear manufacturers, will have the opportunity to meet both domestic and international companies in addition to sector professionals at this fair.

EMITT takes you on winter vacation

Ekin Fair Director Hacer Aydın says that the sun, sand and the sea, as well as the most recent trend of participating in cultural excursions are the first things that come to mind at the mention of a vacation. She, however, says that winter vacations can also provide quiet and relaxing getaways through accurate planning and evaluation.

The rapidly developing ski culture, originating at Bursa’s Uludag and spreading throughout Bolu, Erzurum, Erzincan, Isparta, Kayseri, Kastamonu, Antalya, Bitlis, İzmir, Ağrı, Kocaeli, Bingöl, Gümüşhane and Kars to overflow beyond the country’s borders, will prove wonderful winter vacation locations says Aydın, adding that early reservation packages, especially during school holidays, will further provide excellent reductions for vacationers. She highlights EMITT 2014 Fair as one that will contribute and revive this sector, the first in this direction.

Go skiing or thermal – each to their own!

Aydın continues that there are many winter tourism vacation options for visitors, since Turkey has world-class ski and thermal resorts. Therefore, many can go skiing, while others can relax at thermal facilities. This is one of the reasons that a Health Care tourism hall has been adjoined to the Winter Tourism hall at EMITT.

Winter tourism sector participants at EMITT 2014, the leading in the region and ranking 5th globally, will have the opportunity to meet 60,000 industry professionals among the 140,000 visitors from 70 countries to attend. Aydın maintains that Turkey’s next objective is to become a global trademark, having already advanced rapidly in winter tourism to date.
