NSW continues to record growth in tourism from Asia, according to the latest International Visitor
Survey for the year ended March 2012, released today by the Department of
Resources, Energy and Tourism (DRET).

- NSW remains Australia’s
top international destination, with a 2.7% increase in spend by overnight
visitors to $6.2 billion
- International visitors stayed a total of 67.2 million nights in NSW, up by 4.4%
- International visitors stayed a total of 67.2 million nights in NSW, up by 4.4%
- Malaysian holiday visitors to NSW reached their highest
level since the Sydney Olympics, up by 25%
Holiday visitors increased from India
(+25%), China (+23%), Thailand (+13%) and Indonesia
and Taiwan
(both +9%).
