Last night's exciting episode of The Amazing Race Australia showed nine teams racing through Dubai before the surprise elimination of Brisbane couple Kym and Donna.
The episode, which was filmed in collaboration with Dubai,
Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing's Representative Office in
Australia, showed various sides to Dubai including the vast red desert where
contestants took part in a detour challenge by driving dune buggies or
navigating a camel obstacle course; a surfing challenge at Wild Wadi waterpark;
and challenge at the Meydan race course that hosts the world's most expensive
horse race the Dubai World Cup before contestants drove themselves to the Four
Points by Sheraton Hotel in the shadows of the Burj Khalifa - the world's
tallest building.
Sydney
sisters Lucy and Emilia provided the comedy highlights by
mistakenly entering a palace. Having travelled to Dubai before, the cheerleader twins Michelle
and Jo benefitted from their previous experiences in the city. While for Queensland couple Kym
and Donna, the gruelling challenges had taken their toll and resulted in an
elimination from the race.
Dubai will also feature in
the next episode of The Amazing Race Australia which will air on Channel
7 on Monday 25th June at 7:30pm.
