Earlier this year, while attending AIME 2026 in Melbourne, I had the opportunity to attend its Opening Ceremony at the exhibition before it opened to the general public. Once the formalities concluded, I found myself immersed in one of the most compelling sporting showcases I have experienced. This is not simply a display of race cars. It is a high-octane journey through more than 70 years of innovation, rivalry and speed at the pinnacle of global motorsport.
Open to 19 April 2026, the exhibition offers an unforgettable deep dive into the world of Formula 1®.

The experience traces the legacy of visionaries such as Enzo Ferrari and icons like Ayrton Senna, while also examining the modern surge in popularity fuelled by Drive to Survive.
The storytelling is dynamic. You can pause to absorb the detail or move briskly from one adrenaline-charged moment to the next.
Legendary Cars Up Close
Seeing championship-winning cars just metres away is an experience that cannot be replicated on screen. Among the standout machines on display are:- 1980 Williams FW07/04
- 2011 Red Bull RB7
- 2003 BAR Honda 005
- 2013 Lotus E21
- 1993 Williams FW15C
Each vehicle represents a pivotal chapter in Formula 1 history. The proximity allows visitors to appreciate the intricate engineering, aerodynamic detailing and sheer craftsmanship that define the sport.

Interactive Thrills and Racing Simulators
The exhibition excels in interactivity. The Albert Park simulator allows visitors to virtually tackle a full lap of Melbourne’s Grand Prix circuit, placing you in the cockpit of a Formula 1 car. It is easily one of the highlights and delivers a genuine sense of speed and precision.Another standout feature is the reaction time challenge inspired by Michael Schumacher and his legendary 0.16 second reflex test. It quickly becomes an unspoken competition among visitors.
Guests can also:
- Snap a complimentary photo on the Winners Podium
- Design their own helmet
- Explore engineering displays
- Engage with hands-on technical exhibits
These interactive zones keep the pacing energetic and accessible for all ages.
