This year’s 10-day festival will run between 26 July and 4 August and will dish up 90 culinary events, including a food market featuring handcrafted cheeses, breads, and chocolates; a craft beer and spirits festival on the banks of the Maroochy River; the ever-popular Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival; and a special Chefs in Conversation with chefs Tom Hitchcock, Peter Kuruvita and Cam Matthews in discussion with celebrity cook Hayden Quinn.
The main courses for this year’s program are the three signature events, two of which are brand new for 2024:
Sunny Coast Breweries & Distilleries Festival by GABS (27-28 July)
Sample the finest beers of Australia’s ‘Craft Beer Capital’ at this two day event held at Cotton Tree Park in Maroochydore. Become immersed in the world of craft beer, artisanal spirits and mouth-watering street food to the backdrop of the Maroochy River. Held in partnership with national event organiser GABS, this promises to deliver an incredible day out. Open the doors to Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry in a first-of-its-kind event for the Sunshine Coast when over 70 of the region’s top producers and makers will showcase the finest local products in one place for one day only. Visitors will have the chance to fill up their pantries (and stomachs) at the Sunshine Coast’s newest venue, The Station, during this unique showcase. Stalls will include handcrafted cheeses, artisanal breads and pastries, boutique chocolates, grass-fed beef and lamb, local honey, premium coffee and tea. The Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry live at The Station SC is a free event.Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival (3-4 August 2024)
Hosted by Spicers Tamarind in the picturesque hinterland town of Maleny, this event sees some of the Sunshine Coast’s best Asian restaurants come together for a culinary experience to be remembered. Restaurant partners include The Tamarind, Rice Boi and Spirit House – all of which are well-known and widely regarded for their delicious Asian inspired food. After a sell-out event last year, this year’s event has grown to span over two days. General entry tickets include five mouth-watering Asian dishes and two matching beverages plus cooking demonstrations and start from $139 per adult.Other highlights of the event program include:
