Mu Cang Chai Paragliding Festival 2023 will take place from 15th to 18th September with many attractive activities. The event attracts more than 100 professional paragliding pilots from many different countries to participate and compete in various categories.

Khau Pha paragliding spot, Mu Cang Chai District, is located at an altitude of more than 1,200m above sea level - one of the most beautiful flying spots in Vietnam as well as in the world. From the beginning of September, visitors can experience paragliding over terraced fields in the golden rice season and admire the majestic scenery of the Northwest mountains and forests.

During the festival, visitors can experience viewing terraced fields from above by paragliding or ultra-light aircraft. With paragliding, visitors will fly with a professional pilot, starting from the top of the mountain, taking advantage of the wind and hot air currents to gain altitude and move. With ultra-light aircraft, the pilot uses the engine to take off gently, regardless of wind or terrain, without needing to gain momentum or gain altitude.

The highlight of this year's Paragliding Festival is the Precision Landing Award of expanded Mebayluon Cup, with the largest scale and prize value ever.

The tournament gathers together more than 100 professional paragliding pilots from many different countries, competing in categories: male individual, female individual, and team. The pilots will take off from Khau Pha pass and land at Lim Mong village. The prerequisite factor determining the winner is the player's accuracy and technical mastery. The large number of participants and diverse nationalities increase the competition and attractiveness of the contest.

A distinct highlight of this year's event are paragliding performances from an altitude of over 3,000m and skydiving performances from Thai athletes. Besides the golden colour of rice, Mu Cang Chai is also adorned with vibrant colours from paragliding wings. The demonstration pilots are all leading experts in the area, and will surely bring unforgettable impressions to visitors.

Besides paragliding activities, visitors to Mu Cang Chai on this occasion also have the opportunity to experience unique local culture such as learning how to make green rice of ethnic minorities, soaking their feet in medicinal leaves, and wading in the stream to watch the afternoon sunset…

Mr. Dang Van My - The paragliding pilot with the most flying hours in Vietnam and also the director of the event organiser said, they always try to make the Mu Cang Chai Paragliding Festival return larger and more spectacular every year. To prepare for this year's festival season, Yen Bai has completed a number of construction items to make Mu Cang Chai flight point as professional as international competition flight points. Mr. My believes that tourists who like to experience, love adventure and love the sky returning to Mu Cang Chai will notice many differences. He hopes Mu Cang Chai becoming a tourist destination that attracts tourists in all seasons, not just the ripe rice season.
