In May 2023, Architectural Digest reported that the music moguls had purchased a $200 million home in Malibu, the most expensive private residence ever bought in California history. The home was designed by Pritzker Prize winning Japanese architect Tadao Ando, spans more than 40,000 square feet and has its own private beach.
But the world-famous couple aren't recluses. They're frequently spotted around L.A., often with their kids, daughter Blue Ivy and their twins, Rumi and Sir. Even if you never buy a mega-mansion, you can still dine and dress like Beyoncé. Here are some of the Queen's favorite places in Los Angeles.
"RENAISSANCE" WORLD TOUR - SOFI STADIUM (SEPTEMBER 2023)
To kick off Black History Month, Beyoncé announced her long-awaited Renaissance World Tour, which includes concerts at SoFi Stadium on September 1, 2 and 4. With her 32nd GRAMMY, Beyoncé surpassed conductor Georg Solti as the artist with the most career wins. FENYES MANSION: "FORMATION"
In 2021, Rolling Stone named Beyoncé's "Formation" the greatest music video of all time, noting that director Melina Matsoukas drew inspiration from Maya Angelou, Octavia Butler, and Toni Morrison "in a striking commentary on significant moments in black American history." Though "Formation" is set in New Orleans, according to Curbed the video was filmed in Los Angeles and interspersed with footage from the 2012 documentary short film That B.E.A.T..The landmark Fenyes Mansion (164-198 N Orange Grove Blvd, Pasadena 91103) was dressed to look like a Southern Gothic plantation - production designer Ethan Tobman and his crew added storm shutters, Spanish moss, ivy, and wisteria to the exterior; and decorated the interior with period rugs and furniture.
Located along what was once known as "Millionaire's Row," the Fenyes Mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places in September 1985 and is the home of the Pasadena Museum of History. Monthly 90-minute tours are $25 for General Admission and $20 for PMH members.
GJELINA
In March 2017, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Blue Ivy and Jay's mom, Gloria Carter dined at Gjelina, one of their favorite restaurants in L.A. (1429 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice 90291) Like any visiting dignitary, the Queen arrived in one of three Escalantes, accompanied by security guards.A hotspot for celeb sightings ever since it opened in 2008, Gjelina is always packed with Venice locals - especially at brunch - who tuck into favorites like lemon buckwheat ricotta pancakes, anchovy and burrata toasts, Santa Barbara ridgeback prawns, and the ever-popular mushroom pizza with fontina, truffle tremor goat cheese and thyme.
MOONLIGHT ROLLERWAY
After a modernization and grand reopening in 2017 helmed by nightclub manager Tommy Karas and the late Nipsey Hussle, World On Wheels closed once again in June 2021 - the future of the beloved Mid-City roller rink is uncertain. Beyoncé, Jay-Z and a group of their friends went skating at WOW on a Friday night in August 2017. According to US magazine, Bey was casually dressed in ripped jeans and a black shirt. An onlooker said Beyoncé was a "great skater" and she even did a couple of splits!Though WOW is closed, there are plenty of places in LA to get your skate on, like Moonlight Rollerway (5110 San Fernando Rd, Glendale 91204) - a local favorite since 1956. From family-friendly open skates, to pop-ups and classes, venues across the city are ready to host skaters of all ages and skill levels. MOTHER WOLF
Acclaimed chef Evan Funke opened his newest restaurant, Mother Wolf (1545 Wilcox Ave, Los Angeles 90028) in Hollywood's red-hot Vinyl District at the beginning of 2022 and celebs have been packing it ever since. The Carters were spotted there in February 2022 - a mere 15 feet from the Eater LA team - and the Daily Mail noted that Beyoncé "wore her luxurious hair down."
Located in the historic Citizen News building adjacent to the Thompson Hollywood, Mother Wolf is Funke's homage to Rome and its mythical founders, Romulus and Remus, and the she-wolf, Lupa Capitolina. To start, the carciofi alla giudia (fried artichokes) is a must. Signature dishes include the classic cacio e pepe, Roman-style thin crust pizzas, and housemade gelatti and sorbetti.
ROSE BOWL STADIUM

The Carters most recently performed at Rose Bowl Stadium when they brought their OTR II Stadium Tour to Pasadena for a two-night stand in September 2018. Jam-packed with hits, the two hour-plus setlist was interspersed with videos of the superstar couple filming each other in numerous settings.
Beyoncé previously performed in L.A. at the Rose Bowl during the Formation World Tour in May 2016. The concert included songs from her album Lemonade and she sang "The Beautiful Ones" as a tribute to Prince, who had died the previous month.
SUPERVINYL
Located on a trendy stretch of Sycamore Avenue, Supervinyl (900 N. Sycamore Ave, Los Angeles 90038) is the brainchild of Lucky Jeans co-founder Barry Perlman. The sleek, modern design by LA-based Standard Architecture features a black brick and glass storefront and a minimalist interior with black oak shelves that display albums like an art gallery, rather than hiding their cover art in the usual record store bins.In October 2022, Beyoncé took over Supervinyl for the release of her Renaissance album and the Queen herself, sporting a Rolling Stones t-shirt and R13 cowboy boots, stopped by to sign records for giveaways.
SUSHI PARK
In August 2017, Bey and Jay had a date night without the kids at one of their favorite sushi spots, Sushi Park (8539 Sunset Blvd #20, West Hollywood 90069). Located on the second floor of a strip mall off the famed Sunset Strip, Sushi Park takes its sushi seriously, as posted in a sign: “NO TAKE OUT! No Salad! No Teriyaki, Tempura! No Trendy Sushi! No California Roll! No Spicy Tuna Roll! We serve only Traditional Sushi!" The omakase experience, which spans 17 courses and more than 30 different cuts of high-end sushi, costs about $200 per person. It's a small price to pay if you're dining next to music royalty.UTA ARTIST SPACE
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are well-known art aficionados - they own a world-class collection of art and took over the Louvre in the stunning music video for APESH*T (270 million views and counting). In February 2019, the Carters attended the opening of UTA Artist Space & Kasseem "Swizz Beatz" Dean present DREAMWEAVERS, a group exhibition curated by Nicola Vassell that featured artwork by African American artists like Barack Obama’s portraitist, Kehinde Wiley; Carrie Mae Weems and Kerry James Marshall. As reported by Yahoo! Lifestyle, Beyoncé wore "an outfit that complemented the premise of the show: an Ankara suit and hat. She paired them with a tiny, boxy purse and a pair of sandals. Outside of viewing the art, she and Jay also spent time talking to some of the other guests, including Pharrell Williams and his wife, Helen Lasichanh."
Since opening in 2016, UTA Artist Space (405 Foothill Rd, Beverly Hills, California 90210) has presented notable exhibitions by artists including Ai Weiwei, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Derrick Adams, Petra Cortright, The Haas Brothers, and Larry Clark.

Beyoncé wore Mendez's stunning emerald green gown to Jay-Z's third annual Tidal X charity concert in October 2017. It was the Queen's first red carpet appearance since she gave birth to her twins, and by amazing coincidence it was also Mendez's birthday. The Walter Collection is open by appointment only Monday-Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
