Introducing the quaint fishing village of Ine, Kyoto Prefecture

Featuring a population of around 2,000, Ine is famous for its 2-storey wooden boathouses (funaya) built along the bay.

These traditional buildings serve as both a home and dock for the fishermen and their families, with the boats housed in the bottom floor and the upper floor serving as living quarters.

Located about 3 hours away from Kyoto Station, Ine is perfect for those looking for an idyllic getaway from central Kyoto.
