Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and reconnect with nature in Wakayama Prefecture!

Located about 4 hours south of Osaka, the Kumano Kodo is a pilgrimage trail centred around 3 sacred shrines: Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Nachi Taisha and Kumano Hayatama Taisha, also known as the Kumano Sanzan.

For over 1000 years, this trail was used as a vital part of the pilgrimage process for emperors, samurai and aristocrats.

Step back in time and get a taste of rich Japanese culture on one of its many trails.

You will have the opportunity to rejuvenate at ryokans (traditional inns) and soak in onsen along your journey.

Would you add this to your Japan itinerary?
