EYRE PENINSULA FROM ABOVE

Cobalt blue waters, mustard coloured islands, silhouettes of wild salmon runs. Is there anywhere more visually contrasting than the Eyre Peninsula from above?

Soak in the romance and freedom that comes with flying, as you soar along the rugged coastline of the Southern Eyre Peninsula. Becoming increasingly dramatic as you fly towards to the Great Australian Bight, take in one of the most unforgiving coastlines of Australia.

A scattering of islands, some inhabited, some left to the wilds of mother nature, punctuate the savage ocean. Osprey’s cling to delicate nests as fluffy chicks chirp in the winds.

The odd contour of a Great White Shark or playful Sealion can be spotted from sitting at 1000 feet.

To take in the sheer contrast, expanse of wilderness and contradiction of colours, a flight over this peninsula is a must.

Taking off over Boston Island to the north of Port Lincoln, soak in the rare glimpse from the sky of Port Lincoln City, its surrounding islands and Boston Harbour, which is 5 times the size of Sydney Harbour.

Cruise over the pristine coastline of Lincoln National Park, on the lookout for sea and land wildlife. This is one of the best locations to see a salmon run from above!

Fly over towering sand-dunes, stunning coastline and the majestic cliffs of Whalers Way. Travel on to Coffin Bay as you pass untouched landscapes, only accessible by walking trails – an area few travellers have the privilege to explore.

The colours of Coffin Bay will make you gasp. The aerial perspective gives you the scope of the extensive inlets, bays and conservation areas of this small, unique region.

Oyster punts putt through the emerald waters, as oyster farmers don their waders and drudge through the water to collect their oyster catches.

Your final journey is through the heartland of the regions farming community, over a scattering of vineyards and back to Port Lincoln.
