Into the Woods: Okuyamato Craft from Nara

When it comes to Nara, you would be familiar with Nara deer. But, did you know Nara has so much more to offer? 

Nara prefecture also has abundance of scenic, healing nature to be explored - in Okuyamoto, home to the highly regarded, centuries-old Yoshino forests. Here, you can also find local artisans translate and express their stories into their crafts, known as Okuyamoto Craft.

From 15 Jan to 21 Feb 2021, head over to INTO THE WOODS at LUMINE Singapore to learn more about the traditions, culture and crafts of Okuyamoto.

Themed Okuyamato Craft from Nara, the showcase introduces Okuyamato, a new generation of craft makers who have made their homes and livelihoods there, and the unique stories birthed from this connection.
