The Verona Opera Festival

Verona is a city in northern Italy’s Veneto region, with a medieval old town built between the meandering Adige River.

It is the setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and a 14th- century residence with a tiny balcony overlooking a courtyard is said be Juliet’s House.

The Arena di Verona is a huge 1st Century Roman amphitheatre, which currently hosts concerts and large-scale opera performances.

Each year the city welcomes opera aficionados for the Verona Opera Festival which takes place in the Arena di Verona, one of the world's most remarkable opera houses.

One Traveller, a solo holiday specialist for mature travellers, offers its five-day Verona Opera Festival tour.
