The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world and has severely impacted the global travel and tourism industry. What are some of the learnings of good and bad practices on how destinations have reacted?

Listen to Dr. Simon Hudson, Professor at the University of South Carolina and author of the upcoming book "COVID-19 & Travel", who will answer some of the questions about good and bad practices of destinations in connection with COVID-19. The session is moderated by Ms. Natasha Martin.

Dr. Simon Hudson | author of "COVID-19 & Travel"
Simon Hudson is a part-time professor at the University of South Carolina and also consults for the industry. He has written 10 books and over 100 research articles & book chapters. With an eclectic background in the ski industry, retail, and academia, Simon is a fount of international experience and comprehensive business information. His cosmopolitan and creative ideas have been influenced by award-winning work at the University of Calgary and the University of Brighton as well as visiting positions he has held in Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. Simon has also taught three times on Semester at Sea, a floating university that circumnavigates the world.

Ms. Natasha Martin | Consultant, Worldbank
Ms. Martin is a tourism consultant that specializes in early-stage adventure and responsible tourism development. Her expertise is in strategy planning, product development, and tourism marketing and branding. She works with governments, donors agencies, and the private sector. With a unique global perspective that comes from a lifetime of living abroad, in 15 different countries, she has worked in over 30 countries and traveled to over 80. In addition to consulting, Natsha spends time lecturing and researching topics connected to adventure tourism development and outbound Chinese adventure tourists.

The Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO) and Destination Mekong invite travel professionals from both public and private sectors from all over the world to join. We have waived registration fees in order to assist travel and tourism professionals during these challenging times.
