Dr. Ian Yeoman, Professor at the Victoria University of Wellington and author of "Tourism Futures" will be interviewed by Lonely Planet author Nick Ray and discuss what the future of travel holds.

Dr. Ian Yeoman | author of "Tourism Futures"
Ian Yeoman is the world's only professional crystal ball gazer or futurologist specializing in travel and tourism. Ian learned his trade as the scenario planner for VisitScotland, where he established the process of futures thinking within the organisation using a variety of techniques including economic modelling, trends analysis and scenario construction. In May 2008, Ian was appointed an Assoc. Professor of Tourism Management at Victoria University, He is a popular speaker at conferences and was described by the UK Sunday Times as the country's leading contemporary futurologist.

Mr. Nick Ray | Lonely Planet Author
In the world of travel, Nick has been a long-time Lonely Planet author, contributing to around 50 guidebooks, including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam, as well as destinations further afield such as Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi. He has also written for a number of leading publications, including The Sunday Times, Wanderlust and BBC Travel. Nick also works as a tour leader and tour lecturer for leading companies and institutions, including Young Presidents’ Organisation and Harvard Business School.

The Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO) and Destination Mekong invite travel professionals from both public and private sectors from all over the world to join. We have waived registration fees in order to assist travel and tourism professionals during these challenging times.
