Where is your favourite place in Sri Lanka?
Any part of the south. I personally love the beach, just to sit back and relax. I love the calm soothing sound of the waves and the cool breeze brings me peace of mind. I also really enjoy beach photography. The areas of Galle, Bentota, Hikkaduwa & Mirrissa have many great activities & experiences and I enjoy a game of football or tap rugby on the sandy shores.

What is you favourite Sri Lankan food?
Traditional rice & curry, including white rice, chicken curry, pol sambal, dhal & mellum. The best place to have these are at my home

Which place do you like to stay the most in the country?
Anantara Kalutara Resort. It boasts a secluded beachfront setting on the picturesque southwest coast and its architecture has been influenced by the well-known and respected, Geoffrey Bawa. I’m discovering more and more wonderful places all of the time!

Where’s the best location for hopeless romantics & honeymooners?
I’m guessing they’d want to sit back, relax and spent time enjoying candlelit dinners, so I would say any of our great beach destinations. If they have a taste for adventure, I would suggest the tea country of Nuwara Eliya or Habarana, as it’s a good base for Sigiriya and safaris to Minneriya & Kaudulla National Parks.

What do you love doing most when you’re not at TTC?
I love taking pictures, a little sketching, watching movies and a bit of gaming (at the moment it’s FIFA , a football simulation).

Where’s the best nightlife in Colombo?
The city is best in terms of nightclubs (which have similar atmosphere for dance & entertainment) and casinos. A few standout clubs would be RnB, Love Bar & Chiller Room & other than clubs, The Taphouse at Dutch Hospital is good – so many! In regards to casinos, I’d say Bally’s.

If you could have any five people join you for a picnic on the top of Pidurangala, who would they be?
I would take my family (which consists of my parents and two younger sisters) and my best friend, Gerry. There’s no better way to enjoy time than with the most important individuals in my life. My family bring so much to my life with humour, love and embarrassment (in an entertaining way). Gerry fits right in and lives in the moment. Also she’d be cool just to stay silent while enjoying the beautiful Pidurangala views.

Wilam was born and raised in Colombo and joined The Travel Concierge Sri Lanka in 2017 as a Tour Executive. Recently he has moved in to the role of 100% supporting the ANZ market with designing tailor-made itineraries for across the country.
