This quirky event sees guests dressed up to the nines, searching for truffles under mainland Australia’s oldest truffle trees with the truffle dogs, before settling down to a five-course truffle degustation feast in an underground wine cellar.
The feast is prepared by onsite Head Chef Richard Learmonth and is served with matched wines from Borrodell’s own museum range. Guests can dance to live music throughout the night and are encouraged to dress to impress – with prizes for the most ‘glammed-up’ gumboot and a charity auction of the premium truffle harvest on the day.
Dust off the gumboots and fur coats, it’s time for Borrodell’s Annual Black Tie & Gumboot Truffle Hunt & Dinner.
The quirky event sees guests dressed up to nines, search for truffles, then retire to the underground wine cellar for a five-course truffle degustation.
There’s also a charity auction of the premium truffle found on the day. Guests are not only encouraged to dress like they’re attending the Oscars – but there are also prizes for the best gumboot. The evening will be spectacular, with guests travelling near and far to be a part of the event. A shuttle bus to and from town is provided so revellers can take full advantage of the wines on offer from the award-winning winery.
Dinner will be prepared by Head Chef Richard Learmonth (Pendolino, ex-Porteno & The Unicorn Hotel ), served with matched vintage wines from Borrodell, while dinner guests also enjoy live music.
Tickets to the Black Tie and Gumboot Truffle Hunt and Dinner are $285 per person and can be purchased here.
Guests are encouraged to book quickly as the event usually sells out.
