A popular pastime in Thailand is cycling along the Mekong River. To assist the pleasure and safety of cyclists a bicycle path is being built in ongoing stages along the Mekong River in Nakhon Phanom Province. This was first commenced in 2016.

With the latest stages now completed, there are several kilometres of dedicated bicycle pathways along the Mekong River in Nakhon Phanom, the capital city of this northeastern province of Thailand

The newest section of the bicycle path is complete with a purpose-built covered bridge, slip resistant surfacing, and reflective markers.

The 375 meter covered bridge section is located close to the Thai-Laos Friendship bridge #3, located in Nakhon Phanom city.
