When Rydges Fortitude Valley’s new signature restaurants welcome their first guests next week, they will demonstrate a fresh approach to dining with an innovative paddock-to-plate concept featuring prized local produce.

Inspired by the rich heritage of its location within the cultural precinct of the Royal Brisbane Showgrounds, Rydges Fortitude Valley will boast two quality eateries, Six Acres Restaurant and The Paddock Bar, at the international chain’s newest hotel, opening on Tuesday, 9 February.

Rydges Fortitude Valley Executive Chef Francesco Trucco said Six Acres Restaurant was destined to set a new benchmark in dining for the progressive riverside city, offering guests an exciting farm-to-the-table experience with an exquisite seasonal menu prepared from the finest ingredients.

“Six Acres Restaurant’s philosophy is to provide a unique paddock-to-the-plate experience of authentic, simple fare prepared with a fresh, modern twist, combined with warm service and a welcoming atmosphere,” Mr Trucco said.

“Our focus is on sourcing fresh, premium ingredients from the abundance provided by the farmers of regional Queensland, to allow the produce itself to be the star of the menu.”

The Paddock Bar, meanwhile, will offer an informal venue for friends to relax on the terrace beneath the shaded canopy of an original fig tree and discover a range of quality craft beers, wines and cocktails.

Six Acres Restaurant will be open seven days a week for breakfast and dinner, while the Paddock Bar will be open seven days a week from lunch to late.

Rydges Fortitude Valley General Manager Matthew Hurley said both food and beverage offerings would embody the hotel’s spirit of country charm within its city location.

“We envisage Rydges Fortitude Valley becoming regional Queensland’s home in the city, with guests able to experience dining and entertainment inspired by the richness of the state’s agricultural tradition,” Mr Hurley said.

“The hotel’s positioning within the Showgrounds precinct and opposite the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC) lends unique appeal to guests wishing to stay and soak up the atmosphere at the many events and festivals held in the district throughout the year.”

The 208-room hotel is situated along Brisbane’s newest and most vibrant café and retail strip of King Street, and on the fringe of the city’s renowned entertainment quarter of “The Valley”, with its eclectic mix of shopping, bars and restaurants.

Ideally positioned to capture both business and leisure travellers as the district evolves to become a thriving lifestyle destination, the hotel offers convenient and luxurious accommodation as well as three flexible meeting rooms.
