More than 1.4 million Hong Kong viewers have tuned into a television special featuring two celebrities exploring Perth, Rockingham and the Coral Coast.
Tourism WA and Tourism Australia collaborated on the We Are Not Family Men project, in which superstar actor and singer Ekin Cheng and his friend Jerry Lamb – also a Hong Kong celebrity – reunite on an Australian adventure.
The one-hour program was the day’s equal top-rating program when it screened in January on Hong Kong’s TVB channel.
According to Nielsen Hong Kong Television Audience Measurement data, 1.42 million people tuned into We Are Not Family Men’ s primary broadcast (not including those who watched it on playback), placing it in the channel’s top-three programs for the week.
A WA holiday marketing campaign in Hong Kong has been timed to harness interest generated from the show.
Filmed solely in WA, We Are Not Family Men features surfing lessons, dolphins, whales, the Pinnacles, lobster lunches, the Abrolhos Islands, Kalbarri National Park, Port Gregory’s Pink Lake, Perth and Rockingham.
