Meet, Share, Connect at AIME's Community Hub

The Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME), 23 – 24 February 2016 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre will feature a creative Community Hub for the second year; a distinct area of the exhibition show floor where attendees can meet, share and connect.

Designed by AIME's Creative Partner, Australian events agency EMG, the Community Hub will have an unconventional design, featuring key technologies set to disrupt the events industry like virtual reality, 3D visualisation tools and interactive screens. It is set to truly surprise and thrill.

As Ian Wainwright, Event Director – AIME, Reed Travel Exhibition commented, the Hub enables the often time-poor events community the opportunity to discover new technologies whilst networking and doing business.

“With technology the largest disruptor to the way the world does business, having a number of unique solutions presented in this central space will benefit attendees to AIME. We have brought the Community Hub concept back for the second year, in a very different way that will give destinations, venues, event managers and suppliers new ideas of how to incorporate technologies to enhance their way of doing business,” said Mr Wainwright.

Peter Jack, Director, EMG who is steering the Hub's creative direction commented that the technology integrated into the Hub will drive innovation.

“The industry is ripe for disruption and embracing innovation in the sector will see opportunities thrive. As one example, we will incorporate virtual reality technology and 360 degree video into AIME for the first time; delivering a truly immersive experience to attendees whilst introducing them to the way of the future for the business events industry,” said Mr Jack.

Google Cardboard will give attendees virtual reality and augmented reality experiences, using their own phones and a simple cardboard device. Displayground will showcase their large scale interactive screens that feature gesture control and motion detection technology, creating a user experience like no other.

The industrial styled Community Hub will offer a sensory experience with new technologies on show, plus allow attendees to relax, network and read AIME Daily in the urban and contemporary surroundings.

Suppliers showcasing boundary-pushing technologies in the Community Hub will include iVvy, Displayground, Glasshaus, Dann Event Hire and Scann3d.
